| I have just started getting into politics. Specifically, I am looking into International Law and Politics. I want to start off by volunteering for an organization, of which I will refrain from naming, that assists immigrants of my ethnic background with "settling in" to our country. I hope to eventually work/volunteer for the United Nations, or something similar.
I have bought a few books at the local Barnes & Noble® about "The Troubles". If you don't know what that is, try looking it up on Google™, or something similar. That may give you a hint as to what my ethnic background is. Anyway, I have bought several books. The one I have just started reading gives the basics on my country's background, hoe certain organizations started, and what they are like today. The books go into detail (many times graphic and mature in content) about specific persons or events that occured within a certain countries anmd its organizations, such as struggles with the RUC and such.
College starts again tomorrow, after a 5-day break that I had. Only a little over 2 weeks left til I have winter break! And I THINK I MAY have aced my political science exam, as well as the project for the same class.
My mother had pretty major surgery done last friday, and she will most likely be in the hospital until tuesday. I will update towards the end of the week. I'm going to have alot of work ahead of me for the week; Not that I'm going to mind some of it... | | |
| Hi. This is my first Xanga post. This site is going to be used mainly to talk about political issues and recent news. Some daily stuff from my life will probably find it's way on here eventually, too.
Today I watched my hs alma mater defeat their opponent in excellent fashion, as it was a shutout. They now go on to the State Championship game against Phillipsburg HS.
It was very cold and raw here today. The wind at the football stadium didn't help. I'm going out in a bit to buy a PS2 remote and to rent Madden 2005, so I can play it with my brother.
As far as politics go, I will discuss Domestic Politics here in the U-S of A, as well as International Politics, with a concentration in the issues of Ireland and the EU (European Union). Take into consideration that I am a Criminal Justice major considering a minor in Political Science, thus, I am just beginning to get a feel for Politics and International Relations. My views may be a bit disfigured, so bear with me as a learn.
I'm feeling tired. I think it's time for that video game rental, and quality time with the bro. ;)
